Former LSU quarterback  Zach Mettenberger remained in SEC country after being drafted by the Tennessee Titans in May, and apparently has found a few SEC enemies in his new home.

The Tennessean is reporting that Mettenberger was at a popular Nashville Bar, Loser’s, over the weekend when two Alabama fans approached him from behind. One yelled “Roll Tide” and the other proceeded to level the massive 6’5″, 225-pound QB.

The account from the story goes as follows, according to a bar employee:

Here’s the truth: The guy said something about ‘Roll Tide!’ to Zach, and Zach turned around and said ‘Good luck with that.’ And the guy’s buddy then sucker-punched Zach.

I promise you that Mettenberger did not throw a punch. He didn’t do anything. The guy sucker-punched him in the eye, that’s the bottom line, and the guy that punched him started running out the door. My door guys had to chase him down.

There are no confirmed photos or videos of the incident as of Monday morning. One cannot imagine those two idiotic Bama fans left without some souvenirs from Mettenberger’s entourage and other Titans fans at the bar.
