Marvel chose The View as the place to announce that, starting in October, Thor will be a woman. No, there’s no magic at work which turns the Son of Odin into a girl. Instead, the power of Thor will pass onto a female character, thus making her Thor. Not She-Thor. Not Thor-Girl. Just Thor. Marvel Editor Wil Moss insists that this is not going to be a temporary substitute for Thor which, as well all know when it comes to comics, means that this change will be set in stone for at least a couple of issues.
