In what I suspect isn’t exactly just a case of convenient timing, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert’s infamous open letter to Cavs fans the night LeBron James signed with the Miami Heat is no longer up on the team’s website.

Gilbert’s letter caused quite the buzz when it was posted four years ago – mainly because it guaranteed the Cavs would win a championship before LeBron (lol) but also because it was written in Comic Sans (lol). in case you want to refresh your memory:

Monday marks the first time the letter hasn’t been on the Cavs’ website since it was posted on the night of ‘The Decision.’ It also comes amidst rumors that LeBron, currently a free agent, is listening to Gilbert & his brass and considering returning to Cleveland.

Removing the letter won’t make LeBron forget what Gilbert said about him – and, honestly, I’m surprised it’s been left up this long considering how Gilbert’s predictions went – but it was probably a necessary step if the Cavaliers want James back in their uniform.

Personally, I can’t wait for Gilbert’s next letter after LeBron snubs Cleveland again and decides to stay with the Heat. I hope he writes that one in Wingdings.
