carmelo-anthony-vs-bulls

Yes, there’s a long shot that the Chicago Bulls could make a play for LeBron James. That hasn’t stopped the folks at the United Center from making its intentions quite clear when it comes to Carmelo Anthony.

Carmelo is making a visit to Chicago on Tuesday to hear the Bulls’ sales pitch.

“The Bulls’ means to acquire Anthony are twofold: Hope Anthony’s camp says yes and convinces Knicks President Phil Jackson to engage in sign-and-trade discussions, which would get him either close to or at a maximum salary. Or sign him using salary-cap space, which would necessitate the amnesty of Carlos Boozer and jettisoning of other pieces for nothing.”

Part of that pitch apparently includes banners and signs with Melo’s name plastered all over them.

Melo reportedly wants to be on a championship-competing team and the Bulls could potentially fit that bill depending on whether Derrick Rose can stay healthy for longer than a minute. If Melo is more concerned with making as much money as possible and is against the idea of uprooting his family he’ll stay in New York. If he wants to move though, those are some mighty nice signs.
