In a moment that was seemingly orchestrated to get Queen Elizabeth II to go viral, the Queen of England paid a visit to the ‘Game of Thrones’ set to see a fictional throne that may hold more power over people’s imaginations and how they conduct their daily lives than the actual British Monarchy.

The Queen of Not Westeros was greeted by Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Ygritte (Rose Leslie), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Arya Stark (Maise Williams), Varys (Conleth Hill) and Cersei Lannister herself (Lena Headey).

Sadly, the Queen did not actually sit on the Iron Throne, probably so as not to ruffle inter-kingdom feathers. It’s a shame because if the Queen wanted to really become an internet sensation, a picture of her sitting on the Iron Throne would certainly have done it.
