As everyone in the world knows by now, a week or so ago, new NBA Commish Adam Silver fined Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling $2.5M and hit him with the lifetime ban from the NBA after Sterling was caught on tape talking to his jump off about how he didn’t want her hanging out with black people anymore.

To help get things back on track, Silver announced Friday that former Citigroup and Time Warner Chairman, Dick Parsons would be the Clippers’s interim CEO.

Statement from Parsons:

“Like most Americans, I have been deeply troubled by the pain the Clippers’ team, fans and partners have endured…A lifelong fan of the NBA, I am firmly committed to the values and principles it is defending, and I completely support Adam’s leadership in navigating the challenges facing the team and the league. The Clippers are a resilient organization with a brilliant coach and equally talented and dedicated athletes and staff who have demonstrated great strength of character during a time of adversity.”

Before getting a law degree at Albany Law School and just steamrolling his way through corporate America (CEO of Time Warner 1995 – 2007. Citigroup chairman 2009 – 2012) Parsons hooped at the University of Hawaii in the late ’60’s.

Commissioner Silver is confident that Parsons will be able to bring some much needed stability and order back to Lob City:

“I believe the hiring of Dick Parsons will bring extraordinary leadership and immediate stability to the Clippers organization…Dick’s credentials as a proven chief executive speak for themselves and I am extremely grateful he accepted this responsibility.”
