After one of the most disappointing and disastrous New York Knicks season of all-time head coach Mike Woodson was fired on Monday morning. Despite ending the season on an upside, the under-performing Knicks had an abysmal record of 37-45, which prompted the dismissal of Woodson. New team president Phil Jackson often praised Woodson, but has also gone on record that the organization needs to start “thinking differently” and thinking about “what we can do to contend” for a title. The next order of business for Jackson is finding a new coach, who he prefers plays a system offense. Most believe that the next coach will be Steve Kerr. Despite Woodson going 18-6 in replacing Mike D’Antoni in 2011 and winning 54 games and the Atlantic Division in 2012, the past atrocious season and playoff futility ended his tenure in New York.
