11th ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys’ star sophomore Marcus Smart didn’t have his best game Saturday against West Virginia. The Mountaineers had an obvious “Hack-a-Shaq” physical game plan to keep Smart off balance and it seemed to work.

6’4″ Smart, a top NBA draft prospect who’s averaging 17. points a game, scored 4 points after fouling out only 25 minutes into the contest. Smart was visibly frustrated throughout the game and just never got it going. He felt embarrassed not so much by his numbers but by his lack of composure and took to twitter to apologize to his fans and Cowboys Nation.

He also apologized specifically to his teammates:

Despite Smart’s sub par effort, the Cowboys came away with an 81-75 victory behind 29 points from Le’Bryan Nash.
