Andre 3000 and Big Boi performing on the same stage?? In less than 5 months from now!??

In what is undoubtedly the best news of 2013 for hip-hop fans, Billboard is reporting that they have credible sources confirming that the legendary Atlanta based rap duo, Outkast, are set to re-unite at Coachella Music Festival in April of next year. If true, the festival which is held in Indio, California, will mark the first time the ATLiens will be reunifying their creative efforts since 2006. Billboard reported the following this afternoon:

Sources tell Billboard that Andre 3000 and Big Boi are in prolonged talks to end their hiatus next year.

The Atlanta hip-hop duo is indeed in talks to reunite next year for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, multiple sources have confirmed to Billboard. Under the current plan, Coachella, which kicks off on Apr. 11, 2014 in Indio, Calif., would be the start of the reunion run and would be followed by additional festival dates in 2014.

One source tells Billboard that there have definitely been “some conversations” about Outkast reuniting, while another says it is “all systems go” for Big Boi and Andre 3000 to end their hiatus next year.

Considered by many hip-hop enthusiasts to be the best rap duo of all time, Andre and Big Boi took a break from making music together in 2007 in an effort to pursue their own solo paths. The hip-hop faithful has since been pleading for the two to reconvene, as the ever so unique lyrical chemistry, sound and style they created, has yet to be duplicated by any of their predecessors. In 2011, after some restructuring within Sony Music, Outkast was moved to Epic Records. Since the move to Epic, there have been whispers here and there about a possible reunion between Three Stacks and Sir Lucious Left Foot, but nothing of any validity until today.

If the lyrics in their 1996 hit single, Elevators (Me & You), are any indication, while it may have taken a little longer than we all would have liked, this eventual reunion was never in question. See you in California in April, folks.

Yes we done come a long way like them slim ass cigarettes, from Virginia. This ain’t gon’ stop. So we just gon’ continue. -Andre 3000

**UPDATE**

Last night, Sleepy Brown, who is a member of the Dungeon Family Crew and also a friend of Andre and Big Boi, posted the below photo on his Instagram account. It seems that this is officially a go, and not only will Outkast be headlining Coachella but there is going to be a handful of events throughout the year that the duo will be looking to perform at. To add to the significance of this news, 2014 also marks the 20th anniversary of Outkast’s first release, Southernplayalisticaddilacmuzik. It looks like Christmas is coming about a month early this year. Outkast-headline-coachella
