Jeff Green of the Celtics helped his team upset the Miami Heat by a score of 111-110 on Saturday night in Miami. You can check out the buzzer beater that Jeff nailed as the clock expired below. There was only 0.6 seconds on the clock left when Jeff received the ball, talk about a quick release.
Green’s game winner was made possible by an intentionally-missed free throw by Dwyane Wade on the other end. Wade was fouled with 0.6 seconds remaining, and missed the first free throw. Rather than make the second and let Boston advance the ball to set up a potential game-tying three, Wade decided to miss it intentionally. Wade launched the ball off the backboard, failing to make contact with the rim — a violation which allowed the Celtics to advance the ball and hit the game winning three instead. Good job, good effort.
