Last week we went 8-6 and I called one of the biggest upsets of the season when I predicted that UCF would storm Louisville and take home the victory. Over the weekend I attended the USC – Notre Dame game in South Bend and missed most of the college football action, but it was an incredible trip. In case you missed it yesterday, I wrote about how I had no idea why I was in South Bend and how I discovered the reason for why I was there. It was one of the best college football experiences of my life and I encourage you to read my article and make a trip to Notre Dame in the future if you haven’t been.

Saturday

Virginia Tech -13 v. Duke

Virginia Tech’s only loss this season was a Week 1 defeat at the hands of Alabama. Ever since that game they have only gotten stronger and stronger. It looks as though Frank Beamer has his team playing like a contender for a BCS spot. Look for that trend to continue this week as Va Tech takes on Duke. The Dukies have been impressive this season and are almost bowl eligible at 5-2. I just don’t see enough talent to make this one really close. Va Tech has the home field advantage and the edge on offense and defense. Go Hokies!

Prediction: Virginia Tech 37 – Duke 21

Clemson -14 v. Maryland

Boy do the Clemson Tigers have something to prove this week. Last weekend the Seminoles of Florida State came into Death Valley and literally killed the Tigers. 51-14? I couldn’t comprehend that score. Sure, the Noles are a fantastic team but 51-14? I thought my phone was fucking with me. Tahj Boyd and crew are going to need to show the world that last week was an aberration. Expect for Clemson to pounce on a Maryland team that is fresh off a 34-10 loss to Wake Forest.

Prediction: Clemson 48 – Maryland 17

Arizona -14.5 @ Colorado

Sorry Buffs, this one already over. I have been all over the Wildcats this season and am 5-1 in their games (screw you $C). Folsom Field might be rocking on Saturday but it won’t be because the Buffs are winning, it will just be because that place knows how to party. Expect Arizona to throw a 50 spot up in Boulder.

Prediction: Arizona 51 – Colorado 24

Auburn -23.5 v. Florida Atlantic

Are you kidding me with this line? Florida Atlantic? Get outta here, Vegas. VEGAS GOT JOKES!

Prediction: Auburn 47 – Florida Atlantic 3

Tennessee +28 @ Alabama

Here comes the upset train and I’m jumping on it! No, the Volunteers aren’t going to win this game in Tuscaloosa. However, I bet it’s going to be a lot closer than you all might imagine. Bama has been tearing their way through the bottom tier of the SEC, but they haven’t faced a team with the talent of Tennessee since the Texas A&M game. I think the Vols are going to keep this one close all the way through. Sure, Alabama might still win this one by three touchdowns, but the Vols are still going to cover 28 points. Go Vols.

Prediction: Alabama 35 – Tennessee 17

Washington -23.5 v. California

Bet against Cal whenever possible. That is one of the 10 commandments of gambling for the 2013 College Football Season. What are the other 10 rules that I just came up with 27 seconds ago?

  1. Bet on Oregon
  2. Bet on Alabama (breaking my rule)
  3. Bet against Cal
  4. Bet the under. Always bet the under.
  5. Bet on Rutgers (but only if your name is Jason)
  6. Bet against Florida
  7. Don’t touch the Big 10
  8. If the coach looks like Ryan Gosling bet on his team (Go TTech!)
  9. Bet UCF any time they play a relevant team
  10. Don’t bet against Florida State

Prediction: Washington 56 – California 21

NC State +32.5 @ Florida State

I’m breaking Rule #10 already! The Noles looked absolutely fantastic last weekend against Clemson and find themselves at #2 in the initial BCS standings. Jameis Winston looks like the best or second best QB in the country along with Marcus Mariota of Oregon. Florida State has looked fantastic early in the season before and has fallen hard after being praised relentlessly. You know which team loves knocking them off? NORTH CAROLINA STATE. Hell, they did it last year! I don’t think the Wolfpack have a chance to win this one but I gambling on the fact that it’ll be close and that FSU won’t be quite as prepared after last weeks victory.

Prediction: Florida State 38 – NC State 24

Texas Tech +7 @ Oklahoma

Rule #8: If the coach looks like Ryan Gosling bet on his team. I shall follow this commandment. KLIFF KINGSBURY ALERT! Is there a cooler coach in College Football right now? The dude is even getting covered by E! and People Magazine. Oh, the guy can coach the shit out of football also. Oklahoma doesn’t really have a QB as we found out in the Texas game. Texas Tech has the opportunity to make a statement to the nation that they are for real. I believe they exploit that opportunity, walk into Norman, Oklahoma, and whoop on some Sooners.

Prediction: Texas Tech 40 – Oklahoma 24

Stanford -3.5 @ Oregon State

Oregon State may be the hottest team in the Pac 12 not named the Ducks. The state of Oregon is bludgeoning opponents offensively and Sean Mannion is a bit of a darkhorse Heisman candidate. This weekend it all ends for the Beavers. Stanford is still angry about losing to Utah and has a lot to prove to the nation. Last week they took care of UCLA and this week they can cement that the Utah game was a fluke. Look for the Cardinal offense to score in bunches and for the defense to stall the high-octane Beaver attack. The Card will head into the matchup versus Oregon at 7-1.

Prediction: Stanford 34 – Oregon St. 20

Louisville -20 @ USF

Thank you Louisville. Thank you for blowing a 28-7 lead and making me look prophetic. I will pay this victory forward by betting on you the rest of the season. Commandment #11: Bet Louisville the rest of the season. Go Cards!

Prediction: Louisville 45 – USF 13

Penn State +14.5 @ Ohio State

Our upset pick of the week. Oh, you thought I was just taking Penn State to cover? NOT SO FAST MY FRIENDS! I’m taking Penn State to the house. Ohio State kicks the bucket this weekend at the horseshoe. The Nittnany Lions heading home to PA with the biggest upset of the season.

Prediction: Penn State 31 – Ohio State 30
