The New York Yankees have announced that they have re-signed manager Joe Girardi to a new four-year deal worth a rumored $16 million that will keep him in place as manager through the 2017 season. Girardi who had interest from his hometown of Chicago as well as the Cincinnati Reds will remain in the Bronx. Next season will be the 48-year-old manager’s seventh season in pinstripes. Girardi has led the Yankees to the postseason in four of his six seasons, including a World Series Championship in 2009.
