John Rocker Did A Reddit AMA and It Was Everything We Expected

Don't use steroids, kids.

Don’t use steroids, kids.

Former pitcher and noted madman John Rocker’s career was full of bigotry, hatred, and furious ‘roid rage the likes of which have never been matched in baseball. The most polarizing figure in the sport over a decade ago, Rocker has returned in glorious fashion to grace us with the privilege of doing his own Reddit Ask Me Anything and it was just great.

For those unfamiliar with the legend of John Rocker, from a performance perspective, he is most renowned for his dominance as the Braves closer, posting a 2.49 ERA with 104 strikeouts in 72.1 innings and recording 38 saves in 2000.

From every other perspective, Rocker is infamous for his prejudicial tirades, classless interviews, and guilty of being an all around terrible human being. He is even the inspiration for HBO’s Eastbound and Down character Kenny Powers, played by Danny McBride.

Rocker answered only a handful of questions, mostly offensively, however, he does provide some keen insight into a player’s perspective during a tense ballgame. Just one though.

The following is a list of some of the highlights from his AMA for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
