aaaRutgers will be retiring their first jersey in their school’s football history, and very fittingly it will be the #52 which was worn by Eric LeGrand. LeGrand was paralyzed while playing in a game on Oct. 16, 2010, against Army, and has been a source of motivation for millions since that day. LeGrand suffered fractures of two vertebrae and a spinal cord injury and his progress toward walking again has been well documented. The ceremony for retiring Eric LeGrand’s No. 52 will be during the Eastern Michigan game at home on Sept. 14.

Fantastic gesture by Rutgers University.
