I don’t know if you know this, but there is a college basketball tournament going on right now, and a lot of current NBA players have participated in it, before becoming a professional. And it is for that reason, that many of them still root for their former schools and pride themselves for being once part of something this special. But pride can sometimes make people, in this case, NBA players do hilarious things like making a friendly wager, where the the loser had to wear the winner’s former school gear, no matter how embarrassing it is. Which brings us to this story of the twitter bet between former Orlando Magic teammates, J.J. Redick, former Blue Devil and Jason Richardson, former Spartan. For those of you following college basketball, you might know that Michigan State lost to Duke in the Sweet 16, which happened to be the school, Jason Richardson and J.J. Redick attended to respectively before moving on to their NBA careers. And at this point, you might be asking why this is all relevant. Well, here’s your answer in the form of their tweets. It should be pretty self-explanatory.

You see, Jason Richardson’s Spartans lost, which meant that he had to wear whatever J.J. Redick sends to him and of course, they happened to be blue Duke gear that covered the man head to toe. But JRich’s undying hatred for Duke wouldn’t just allow him to wear the clothes and take the photo as proof, he had to burn all of it to make sure the message gets through.

Unfortunately for JRich, he has to keep the photo as his avatar until the end of the tournament, and since it is up on the internet, his shame will forever be stored in someone’s computer. Knowing J.J. Redick (which I totally don’t) he has probably printed the photo on to a canvas, framed it and hung it on one of the walls of his house to remind him of this special moment for the rest of his life. Pretty creepy.
