During Uruguay’s World Cup Qualifying match against Chile on Tuesday, striker Luis Suarez got away with what should’ve been an automatic red card when he punched Chilean defender Gonzalo Jara in the face.

The incident occurred in the 34th minute just before an Uruguayan corner kick. The two were fighting for position when they started shoving and grabbing each other. That’s when Suarez took it a step further and hit Jara with a right jab directly to the chin. No card was given to Suarez and Uruguay went on to win the match 2-0.

This definitely won’t help Suarez’s case with those who accuse him of being a dirty player and a flopper.

Here’s an alternate view.
