The Dallas Mavericks released a video today that spoofs Hyundai’s Super Bowl ad for their new 2013 Santa Fe, and it makes no sense.

In the original spot for Hyundai, a group of bullies steal a football from a kid while he is tossing it to himself and tell him to “come back when you have a team.” The kid then assembles his six-man team of ‘super-kids’ and returns to play the bullies. In the Mavericks version, all of the kids’ heads are replaced by Mavericks players’ heads and that’s pretty much all that is different.

Why did the Mavericks decide to spoof a commercial for a totally different sport? We’re not too sure. An NBA team promoting playing football doesn’t seem like a good way to get fans excited about the Mavericks? Although, the faces are pretty hilarious, it still doesn’t make any sense.
