Bobby Valentine is feeling the heat from Red Sox nation for his part in an under-performing Boston baseball team, and on Wednesday morning he let his temper get the best of him. Bobby was a guest on the Big Show with Glenn Ordway and Michael Holley and let loose when responding to rumors of him recently ‘showing up late to the ballpark, the perception that he’s given up on the year, and more on the 2012 Red Sox debacle.’ You can listen to the incident around the 2 minute and 50 second portion of the audio (click HERE to listen). People can argue if it was in jest or not, but it is still poor form by a disgruntled manager.
WEEI: ‘You do get the impression that maybe you’ve kind of checked out. Have you checked out of this?’
Bobby Valentine: ‘What an embarrassing thing to say. You know, if I was there I’d punch you right in the mouth. How’s that sound?’
I guess it was a good thing he was just doing a phoner.
