Following a whirlwind day in which the New York Yankees acquired 10-time All-Star outfielder Ichiro Suzuki from the Seattle Mariners for a couple of of pitching prospects, Ichiro got right to work in a new uniform. After landing his first single in the Yankees pinstripes in his first Yankees at-bat in the third inning, Ichiro Suzuki took off and successfully stole his first base for the Yanks. ¬†Though Ichiro has been struggling at the plate as of late, many folks think that a change of scenery would be the cure. Ichiro is the Mariners’ all-time leader in batting average and hits and was named the American League’s MVP and Rookie of the Year in 2001. Ichiro also landed himself two AL batting titles and a mere 10 Gold Glove awards in just over 11 seasons in Seattle.
