Following a whirlwind day in which the New York Yankees acquired 10-time All-Star outfielder Ichiro Suzuki from the Seattle Mariners for a couple of of pitching prospects, Ichiro got right to work in a new uniform. After landing his first single in the Yankees pinstripes in his first Yankees at-bat in the third inning, Ichiro Suzuki took off and successfully stole his first base for the Yanks. Though Ichiro has been struggling at the plate as of late, many folks think that a change of scenery would be the cure. Ichiro is the Mariners’ all-time leader in batting average and hits and was named the American League’s MVP and Rookie of the Year in 2001. Ichiro also landed himself two AL batting titles and a mere 10 Gold Glove awards in just over 11 seasons in Seattle.
