This is great news for anyone, music fans or not. The surviving members of Run-DMC are ready to reunite this fall at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas and we couldn’t be more happy about it.
According to a press release today:
This Feb. 25, 2002 file photo shows members of the hip hop group RUN-DMC, from left, Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and Joseph “DJ Run” Simmons creating handprints in cement as they are inducted into Hollywood’s RockWalk in Los Angeles. It was announced Tuesday, July 10, 2012, that McDaniels and Simmons, the surviving members of Run-DMC, will reunite at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas on Nov. 2-4. Simmons retired from the group after Mizell was shot to death in 2002. Festival organizers say they plan to donate some of the proceeds to the JMJ Foundation for Music, which works to give youth access to the arts.
