The first round of the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, South Carolina got crashed by an uninvited guest. A 6-foot alligator made an appearance on the 15th hole as golfer Brian Gay was getting ready to play the hole. Brian’s caddie was the hero of the day and somehow pushed the alligator back into the water hazard with a rake. Kudos to Kip Henley, the bravest caddie we know.
Brian Gay spoke on the incident:
“He’d go under, and then you don’t know where he went, and a couple times he came back at him. I didn’t know what was going to happen. Once I saw him 30 feet away I knew I had time to hit it and get out of there.”
