NBC / Golf Channel today censored ‘under God’ from the Pledge of Allegiance during the 2011 US Open intro video.  I have no real commentary on if this is good or bad, just found it interesting.

How Dare you include the Service Men Like me in the Pledge of Allegence and leave out
“Under God” Without Him, there would not be a USA.. I demand someone be fired over this. I am not watching your Network until you take care of this situation. Too many so called mistakes makes me wonder about your Network

I will not watch NBC again until the network explains who edited this out and that person(s) is/are fired and the network apologizes for this. This moral destruction must stop!

I’m right there with you DRZ. I too won’t be watching NBC until they rectify this. I read a report the other day (source unavailable, sorry!) that stated the results of a study. The study found that 96% of the US population believes in a “God”. Why is 4% of the population dictating what 96% of us should do, say, or hear. My opinion is that if you don’t ever want to hear the word “God”, then you shouldn’t live in a country that has the phrase “Under God” in their Pledge of Allegiance. Move somewhere else FOR GOD’S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please don’t think that anyone really believes it was just an oversight to leave out “under God” from the opening on the US Open Golf Championship. This had to be edited and proofed before it was aired. Please tell me how anyone thinks they have the authority to re-write our founding father’s pledge to our country. We are huge golf fans, but we will not continue to watch on NBC. It is this type of incident that makes Americans appear unloyal and afraid to stand and speak with pride of our “one nation, under God.” Do not group us in with this unclassy, unpatriotic and arrogant NBC staff. Please tell me how many other countries would ever leave out parts of thier pledge to their flag and country…’only in America,” as they say, could anyone get away with it. The person who made the final decision should be terminated. The golf channel should be ashamed to be affliated with NBC Sports.

I look forward to the day all of you bible beaters are living in a cave with your uneducated beliefs and ideas. Take a chill pill and be glad your god is not being shoved down everyone else’s throats…WWFSMD?
