“The Morning Cheat Sheet” is designed for those who may not eat, drink, or breathe sports on a regular basis. Cosby Sweaters delivers the essential bite-sized talking points you can use throughout the day to sound like an expert. When your significant other, coworkers, boss, kids, or the mailman dive into sports related conversation, simply recall and regurgitate “The Morning Cheat Sheet” and watch them nod their head in agreement (or spit out their coffee). Take that sports nerds.

1) Losing in Los Angeles – The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the first game of a best of seven series which was played in Los Angeles last night.  Kobe Bryant had a chance to win the game at the buzzer but missed a shot.  It is still early in the series (first game) but because it was played in Los Angeles (and the Lakers are ranked higher),  Dallas was expected to lose by nearly everyone.  At any point today you could say:  The Lakeshow got upset last night, but I still think they will be in the Finals.

2) Coming Up Roses – Derrick Rose is going to be announced as the NBA’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).  This feat is significant as it is the best individual player award you can get and he is the youngest player in league history to win the award.  Everyone knew he was going to win the award, but now a source confirms the NBA will announce it as fact.   He averaged 25 points and 7.7 assists a game while leading Chicago into the playoffs and best record in the league.  Have no fear saying:  Bout time they gave D-Rose that damn trophy, at 22 years old he is the youngest one to win the MVP as well.
