Jon “Bones” Jones beat Mauricio “Shogun” Rua by TKO in the 3rd round of tonight’s UFC 128 fight. Shogun was fighting for the first time since he won the championship last May against Lyoto Machida. Shogun, weighing 205 pounds and from Brazil, is the former light heavyweight champion. Jon “Bones” Jones, the 23-year old MMA fighting prodigy from New York, accepted the challenge to compete against Shogun Rua in UFC 128 a mere 6 weeks ago after Rashad Evans suffered a knee injury during training. Jones absolutely dominated Rua throughout the fight and is well deserving of the title of new Light Heavyweight Champion.
