Juelz Santana in Jail – So We Reflect On Some of His Music

According to North Jersey’s Bergenfield,Teaneck; a Cosby Sweater favorite has been locked up.

A search warrant executed last month at Santana’s Washington Avenue recording studio turned up two fully-loaded 9mm handguns and 17 bags of suspected marijuana, said John L. Molinelli, the Bergen County prosecutor.

Santana, 28, of Teaneck, whose real name is Laron James, was charged on Wednesday with possession of a firearm and a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a handgun without having a permit, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

I am no lawyer but, those don’t seem to be misdemeanors. Our good friend will possibly be writing some new music in the slammer. With that said lets look at some of the gems that Juelz brought us.

Considering my handle on this site is “The Diplomat” it seems only natural to start with the DipSet Anthem by the Diplomats from 2003;

This next clip is from just a few months ago on he DipSet reunion tour. Sad news that we will probably never get another chance to see this happen.

Let’s follow up with another classic from The Diplomats.

Another Juelz solo classic, and one which really solidified him as an individual artist is “There It Go (The Whistle Song).” This may have been his most popular in the long run, though it wasn’t even in my top 5.

To cap it off let’s end with a track where Juelz played best supporting actor and absolutely murdered his verse (poor choice of words);
