  • It takes a lot to learn how to be a father. There are too many outside influences that give a new father ideas on how to act and respond to variety of events. You hit it right on the head with “Don’t be like your Dad.” It took me too many years to see the error of my ways, but I learned. The one thing that you need to point out, though, is that each child is unique and should be raised uniquely as they are. Don’t try the same methods on your second or third child as they may react differently. As an example, my oldest son doesn’t react to raised voices like my youngest son. Try using a calm tone with my youngest gets you nowhere.
